The Pug Muse Who Sparked a Newspaper Revolution
In 2021, we rescued a lovable pug named Barbara from the wonderful team at Pug Rescue. She quickly became a beloved member of our family, endlessly delighting us with her squashy face, quirky antics, and thunderous snoring. Renamed Barbara Veda, she became our creative muse during long lockdown days spent entertaining four restless children.
Her expressive face — pugly, not ugly! — and her hilarious personality inspired a playful cast of pugs, each sketched onto old newspapers in a sustainable swirl of ink and imagination.
What began as simple creative fun blossomed into a collection of handmade greeting cards, each pug tailored to reflect the personality and passions of its recipient. With Veda as our ever-willing model, the cast grew and grew. The cards were met with such warmth and joy that we felt compelled to share them with the wider world, so others could send pugly smiles to the people they love.
